ZEOLITE AS A DIETARY SUPPLEMENT
Natural zeolites application in poultry and livestock farming is an example of one of the most effective zeolite application areas. The initial zeolite experiments in the 60-ies of the last century in Japan and USA proved that its application as a dietary supplement to poultry and animal feed allows to reduce morbidity rates, improve product quality, decrease feed input and increase the farm productive efficiency.

HOW IT WORKS
Mechanism of zeolite influence on the poultry organism is relatively simple. When getting into the gastrointestinal tract, it slows down the food bolus movement and increases the degree of digestion. High ion-exchange properties of zeolite allow to reduce fermentation processes through binding toxins and gases released by bacteria, primarily ammonia and mercaptans, which also affects favourably the extent of feed assimilation and improves poultry health status.

Studies on the use of natural zeolite content up to 80 % (65-80 %) in the poultry farms showed that zeolite addition to mixed feed for chicks of various age in the amount of 3 to 5 % leads to reduction of mortality by 1-2 %, provides for hens egg-laying capacity increase of 3-5 %, broiler body weight gain increase of 6-8 % and increases stock livability by 2-3 %.

Zeolite content exceeding 80 % (up to 94 %), therefore its application dosage can be applied lowered. Zeolite can be added directly in a complex forage mixture in the volume recommended for poultry – 7 g/kg of the feed. It can be added to the complex mixture according to the add-on method or by replacement of any of the feed constituents, e.g. wheat, wheat or rice shorts and others in the respective volume of 0,5-1 %.

Makes poultry manure drier, thus decreasing the amount of wastes
Decreases ammonia emission in the environment, including emission from the wastes of the animal production units
